Q: What security do I have? A: Residents purchase the right of occupation, in terms of the agreement, of the cottage of their choice. The surviving spouse retains the right of occupation.
Q: What are the conditions of purchase? A: "Purchasing Procedure" clarifies many of the questions relating to conditions of purchase.
Q: Are the units serviced? A: Each resident is entitled to a set period of domestic service weekly.
Q: Is there a laundry service? A: Yes. A well equipped laundry with washing machines and tumble driers is operated by the domestic staff. Tokens are purchased at the reception office.
Q: Is there a gardening service? A: Yes, for the complex, not for personal gardens.
Q: Is there a repair and maintenance service? A: Yes, with formal procedure to ensure satisfaction.
Q: Would one be permitted to have alterations or additions done? A: Yes, subject to written Board of Management approval.
Q: Are pets allowed? A: Caged birds are allowed. No cats and dogs allowed
Q: Is there a levy? A: Yes. The levy is a monthly charge by electronic funds transfer and covers repairs, maintenance, garden service, water charges, refuse removal, use of all recreational facilities, 24-hour security patrol and insurance of the general property, but not of personal property. Electricity consumption is metered and charged on the individual consumption in the cottage on a monthly basis. This charge is shown separately on your monthly account.
Q: What insurance do I need? A: Your personal effects and your vehicle are your responsibility. Management has access to the services of a very competitive and competent insurance broker. He is prepared to offer you a quote, to insure your possessions with your present insurance company or with one the broker recommends.
Q: What access is there to the Village at night? A: Residents with cars are provided with an identification sticker. Guards are on duty 24-hours a day.
Q: May I have house guests? A: Normally for a maximum of three months unless otherwise arranged.
Q: Are there facilities for bedridden, disabled and sickly people? A: Yes. Our Frail Care centres are registered. Qualified nursing staff are in attendance 24 hours a day. Boksburg has a Midcare and Frail Care centre, Dalpark has a Midcare and Care centre and Pretoria will have a Frail Care and Midcare centre.
Q: Are garage facilities available? A: Yes. Lock-up garages are available.
Q: What contact is there between residents and management? A: The Chairman and a member of the elected Residents Committee meet quarterly with the General Manager and representatives of the Board of Management to discuss matters of mutual interest and concern.
